HAVEN PRESENTS: O'FLYNN (UK) Since emerging in 2015, O'Flynn has established himself as one of the UK's most distinctive voices in contemporary electronic music. Blending UK club sounds with organic instrumentation, breakbeats, house and globally influenced rhythms, his productions strike a rare balance between dancefloor energy and emotional depth. With releases across Ninja Tune, Hundred Flowers, Technicolour and his own imprint, O'Flynn has earned the support of Four Tet, Bonobo, Ben UFO, James Blake and Gilles Peterson, while Boiler Room, Fabric and The Guardian have all championed his work. His acclaimed albums Aletheia and Talia, alongside collaborations with Bonobo and Frazer Ray, have cemented his place as one of the most respected producers in the underground electronic landscape. As a DJ, O'Flynn is equally captivating, moving effortlessly between euphoric house, UK bass, breaks and leftfield club music. His performances have taken him everywhere from Fabric, Phonox, KOKO and Warehouse Project to Glastonbury, Lost Village and festivals across Europe and North America. On Friday 4 September, Haven welcomes O'Flynn for his long-awaited Byron Bay debut. Expect an immersive journey through one of electronic music's most exciting catalogues, delivered as always on Haven's Funktion-One sound system with carefully curated local support. IG: https://www.instagram.com/oflynnmusic/?hl=en SC: https://soundcloud.com/Oflynnmusic Haven positions itself as a one-of-a-kind temporary venue where people can celebrate music and connect with their community before the building is inevitably redeveloped. The entire space is built entirely with salvaged materials; a nod to the space's transient nature. The impermanence of the space becomes part of its power, building urgency and turning each night of unique programming into a rarity. The venues story is also shaped by the history of the building. An old Woolworths site now being transformed into a venue for culture. The installation led by Oliver Buckworth, Katsu Yokoyama and Zelimir Harasty takes guests to a street scene in a densely populated city, where culture, sound and life overlap. There’s traces of Kowloon city, 80’s anime, Wong Kar Wai films and Tokyo listening bar culture. Tickets are limited and expected to move very quickly. Info on the artists below. We acknowledge the Arakwal people of the Bundjalung Nation, the Traditional Custodians of the land on which this event takes place. We recognise their enduring connection to Country, culture, and community, and we pay our deepest respects to Elders past and present. We also extend that respect to all First Nations people in attendance.
